Since many years, the extensive range of human plasma and serum samples from renowned American manufacturer Innovative Research is an integral part of Dunn Labortechnik’s product portfolio. Human samples provide an irreplaceable value and have become indispensable for researchers. Whether they are used as control samples in numerous assays, for use in coagulation and complement studies, or to gain better understanding of a wide variety of systemic diseases, possible applications of human samples are nearly limitless.
Human plasma from Innovative Research is either obtained by apheresis or from whole blood donations and is available from single donors or pooled. They offer anticoagulants such as EDTA, heparin, or citrate, thereby covering a wide range of possible research applications. Moreover, depleted plasma lacking various coagulation and complement factors can be purchased. Especially convenient are pre-tested plasma samples: for Clotting Activity Tested plasma, the activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) was predetermined, making it ideal for use in coagulation studies. Panel Tested plasma was tested for several parameter like blood type, cholesterol content, triglyceride concentration, as well as lipemia level. Further, gender, age, height, weight, BMI, and usage of prescription and over-the-counter drugs was noted.
In addition to human “off-the-clot” serum, complement preserved serum or plasma-derived AB-serum are available. Heat inactivated and activated charcoal filtered serum are further options.
Besides samples from healthy donors, a variety of patient samples are available. Furthermore, human body fluids such as saliva, sweat, tears, urine, stool, ascites, CSF, breast milk, semen, menstrual blood and many more can be supplied.
