Dunn Labortechnik presents the new Clara™ Growth Plate from Porvair Sciences to enhance and optimize cell culture workflows. Possible applications include drug research, antibody and hybridoma production, or plasmid extraction from bacteria.

The Clara™ Plate has 6 wells and combines the advantages of a standard T-cell flask and microtiter plates by supporting cells with 50 ml well volume, at the same time offering a standard SLAS/ANSI format for automation purposes. The round wells and supporting rims between these prevent build-up of shear stress while shaking. These unique features allow you to grow your cells and do downstream assays using liquid handlers, readers or other equipment with the same plate.

In addition, the Clara™ plate can be equipped with filter inserts in the bottom of the wells enabling users to grow cells, lyse these and then filtrate with positive pressure such as with manifolds. These and suitable collection plates are also available from Porvair Sciences.

• Complex impedance analyser
• ECIS® (Electric Cell-substrate Impedance Sensing) quantifies morphology changes in the sub-nanometer to micrometer ranges.
• Small altering currents are applied across an electron pattern at the bottom of the array which results in a potential across the electrodes being measured by the system. Cells act as insulators increasing the impedance.
• Stimulating cells to change their function alter the impedance which can be detected by the system.
• The instrument can use a range of AC-frequencies from 100 Hz to 100 kHz and complex impedance measurement to determine different cell morphology parameters including barrier function, close contacts, and membrane capacitance.

Overview of MicroLute™ products from Porvair (PDF)

Large roller apparatus and matching large-capacity CO2 roll-in incubators from Bellco Glass are the perfect combination for the production of cells, cell products, vaccines, and viruses.

For many years, Dunn Labortechnik has been supplying its customers with Bellco Glass’s tried-and-tested roller devices, while also providing technical support for these devices.

Large roller devices with 88 bottle positions and matching large-capacity roll-in incubators with a chamber volume of 2,265 liters, digital control for speed, temperature, and CO2, and a safety thermostat are now also available specifically for biotechnological production. Both devices are equipped with a touchscreen display for easy operation and process monitoring. In addition to local acoustic and visual alarms, the 7728-S0260 incubator model also features analog signal and alarm outputs for monitoring via computer or monitoring system, as well as USB and Ethernet connections. Alarm forwarding via email or text message is also possible.

The Bellco roller apparatus has a battery backup power supply to bridge short-term power failures and can also accommodate up to 88 long or up to 176 short roller bottles, depending on the type of occupancy. The direct drive of all bottle positions ensures that even light roller bottles are rotated evenly in the selected direction of travel.

Since August 2023, Icon Medlab’s excellent antibodies and antigens have been included in our product range. The monoclonal mouse antibodies are ideal for ELISA and lateral flow immunoassay (LFA). The ideal combinations of coating and labeling antibodies have already been tested in advance, so there is no need for time-consuming testing to find the optimal antibody pairs. In addition to ELISA and LFA, there are other possible applications, such as Western blot.

The antibodies are available in various package sizes and are supplied with a certificate of analysis and a safety data sheet. In addition, internal systematic controls for the antibodies are available separately, making them suitable for the development of IVD tests.

The antibodies cover a wide range of applications such as fertility, heart and tumor markers, addictive substances, pathogens, GMOs, food safety, and much more.
