C O M P A N Y P R O F I L E - how we became what we are - The company Dunn Labortechnik GmbH was founded in October 1982 by Peter (English, more than 10 years with Flow (ICN), Scatron and KC Biologicals in Germany, now the technical backbone of the company responsible for sales and product support) and Hannelore (German, responsible for administrative, financial and marketing matters). In February 1992, almost 10 years later, the company was acquired by the British company J. Bibby & Sons Plc / Barloworld (was subsequently known as Bibby Dunn Labortechnik), but has reverted back to its original status of private ownership at the end of September 1994, and is now called again Dunn Labortechnik GmbH. The company location is in Asbach, between Cologne and Frankfurt. In July 1992 the company has moved into its own new premises with extensive warehouse facilities to further optimize the service to our customers. The original founders are still Sales and Managing Directors respectively, and they are being supported by a dedicated staff of 12 full-time employees. In 2007 we are proud to have celebrated our 25th anniversary!
Our customers throughout the whole of Germany and - depending on the product - in most European countries can be found in three main areas: Government/public sponsored university institutes - such as institutes of immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, pathology, physiology, biochemistry, orthopaedics, cardiology, genetics, pharmacology, veterinary research, virology, cell and tissue culture, blood banks, HLA-laboratories, etc.
Research Organizations - such as Max-Planck-Institutes, the German National Cancer Institute, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute, etc.
Industry - such as serum and kit manufacturers, milk, food and pharma industry: i.e. Sanofi Aventis, Bayer, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Merck, Roche, Novartis, BASF as well as numerous young Biotech companies. Our product range can also be split into three main areas: Equipment

We have split Germany into geographical sales areas, each area is covered by dedicated sales support staff. Further, we have in our team three scientists as Product Managers, three service technicians for customer support and repairs, as well as administrative/financial and warehouse/dispatch staff. Our product range has been carefully chosen and limited to fit the specific needs of the above mentioned customer groups. A large portion of our products is supplied by manufacturers for whom we have exclusive distribution rights for Germany - and for some products for part or the whole of Europe. All products have to comply to sound quality and reliability standards, backed by a good supportive relationship between the manufacturer and us. We participate at some of the most important trade shows as well as numerous small exhibitions in Germany and neighbouring countries throughout the year. We issue press releases on new products and place regular advertisements in major trade papers. All our products and services are described on our webpages (www.dunnlab.de), which are constantly being brought up to date with product news, special promotions, exhibition participation, etc. 07/2010
